Ingredients for McLean’s Hot Gin Punch

50ml winter spiced gin

200ml cloudy apple juice

McLean’s Hot Gin Punch: Method

Begin by placing your chosen saucepan over a low flame, and pour 50 ml of winter spiced gin together with 200 ml cloudy apple juice.

Next up, carefully add a couple of slices of fresh, fragrant orange to the pan, together with a cinnamon stick and a couple of cloves/allspice berries. As you patiently wait for the alchemy to unfold, keep a watchful eye for the first wisps of vapour. This is a sign of precious gin evaporating!

As soon as this happens, remove from the heat and pour it into your favourite mug. Enjoy!

Santa’s Sour

Santa's Sour

An elegant, zingy sip with a playful edge and a hint of festive sophistication…

150ml Ocean Spray Cranberry Classic

100ml lime juice

50ml Peach Schnapps

1 egg white (or two tablespoons of aquafaba if you don’t want to use egg)

Handful of ice

To garnish

1 whole lime

To make your garnishes, peel two pieces of lime, approximately 6cm in length. Trim to approximately 2mm in width. Twist around a chopstick to form a ringlet shape and set aside, leaving them loosely around the stick.

To make the cocktail, combine all liquid ingredients and the egg white (or aquafaba) into the shaker and shake for 15 seconds. (Shaking without ice allows the egg white or aquafaba to form a frothy texture within the drink.)

Add the ice to the shaker, replace the lid and shake again for 20 seconds (or until your hands can feel the cold).

Strain into the glasses and grate some lime zest over the top. Add the lime ringlets to the rim of the glasses and serve. Sip and enjoy!
