Review: Ice Skating at Life

Luxe heads into Newcastle City Centre for a fun-filled evening of ice skating at Life…

‘Tis the season for bundling up and showing off your ice skating skills at Life!

Ice skating at Life

Life welcomes back its open-air ice rink, a delightful tradition in every northerner’s calendar.

The ice rink which is now open will be inviting visitors until Sunday 7 January.

Nestled in the heart of Times Square, this charming rink caters to individuals of all ages and skill levels. So, whether you’re the family show off, an elegant glider or Bambi on ice, everyone is welcome!

What we thought

Layering up in our winter knits, the Luxe team and their little Luxe people head into Newcastle City Centre on a cold and wintry Thursday evening to swap their shoes for skates.

Upon skating onto the ice, we were greeted by the mesmerising sight of a glistening ice rink adorned with twinkling lights, Christmas classics playing aloud and a joyful atmosphere.

While some of us glided like Dancing on Ice pros, others were a little more like Bambi on ice, but it’s all part of the relaxed fun at Life.

Little members of our Luxe party had a helping hand from the penguin skating assistants, which admittedly, some of us adults needed a little more.

After a few laps of the rink, several mishaps and a few successes, we headed inside and warmed our souls with a delicious hot chocolate.

It was simply the perfect activity to welcome the festive period!

Life opening times

The ice rink is open Monday – Sunday, 9:30am till late (dependent on availability).
