Raby Estates is the perfect place to experience it all, with a range of autumn events, including Deer Park at dusk, stargazing suppers, and wreath workshops, adding brightness to the shorter days ahead.
For those who prefer indoor activities, specialist tours are on offer, with behind-the-scenes access and a spotlight on the archives offering a glimpse into the fascinating history of the castle.
Families can enjoy Halloween happenings across the estate, starting from 7 October. The Halloween trail in The Plotters’ Forest and the Mischievous Mog trail in the Deer Park at Raby Castle offer fun for all ages.
As the sun sets, an illuminated after-dark trail through the pine tree plantation brings magical inhabitants to life. Families can collect creepy clues and receive a tasty treat from The Plotters’ Pantry lookout deck upon completing the trail.
Adventurers can also relax in High Force Hotel’s cosy setting while enjoying sweet treats and hot drinks after completing their spooky mission.
Mischievous Mog Halloween Trail In The Deer Park
7 October – 5 November

Mog has been up to no good, and has gotten her paws on the sorcerer’s magical hat. She’s been causing mayhem with it in the Deer Park!
Follow Mog’s mischief around the Deer Park, find the clues to see what she got up to. There’s riddles to solve along the way and a few cheeky ‘Mog’s’ trying to lead you astray!
Autumn Wreath Workshop

Head on over to the Autumn Wreath Workshop in Raby Castle’s grand Entrance Hall.
Get inspired by the spooky season and create your own autumn-themed wreath, an ideal way to add a natural touch of seasonal splendour to your home.

Halloween Afternoon Tea

Indulge at High Force, where they’re serving up a traditional Afternoon Tea in the beautiful Garden Room Restaurant.
Their Afternoon Tea features scrumptious finger sand‘witches’ with a range of both classic and quirky fillings, as well as a selection of expertly crafted sweet treats. This is a served Afternoon Tea, and admission to High Force Waterfall is included.
Raby Castle Pumpkin Patch
27 October – 31 October

Bring your best-dressed pumpkins along to Raby Castle and have your designs on display for your friends and family to see. The Garden Team will be judging your spooky pumpkin creations and the winner will be announced on Halloween night, receiving a Family Day Pass for The Plotters’ Forest.
Whether you’re carving, decorating, or cooking, a visit to a pumpkin patch during autumn is a must!
Deer Park At Dusk
7, 14, 21, 28 October, 5pm – 7pm

Experience an enchanting evening that seamlessly combines serenity, relaxation, and delightful indulgence.
As the sun starts its descent, set off on a leisurely stroll through the vast Deer Dark which circles the iconic castle. Wander at your own pace, fully savouring the tranquil beauty of the park, and keep an eye out for the possibility of encountering graceful deer as they go about their natural habitat.
Treat your taste buds to unique creations crafted by the talented estate chef, and partake in some late-night shopping for added enjoyment.
