Amazing Jane: Supporting Women Through The Power Of Clothing

Amazing Jane is the empowering and innovative business transforming the fitness industry. This International Women’s Day, they’re joining forces with the Smart Works Newcastle charity to create a bespoke pair of leggings to mark the occasion.

Can you give us a bit of background on Amazing Jane and its unique place in the market?

The Amazing Jane brand has been around for eight years, and our passion to build confidence in women has been around for decades.

We caused quite a stir in the fitness and mainstream news last year when our new TrackHer range of activewear leggings hit the market.

The innovative leggings contain a concealed ‘TrackHer’ pocket, designed to be the size for a GPS personal tracker, and were launched in response to recent headlines around violence against women and their safety when out exercising.

We focus on empowering and supporting women through the power of clothing and its deeper psychology of making women feel good and confident about their bodies.

We use the science and our combined years of experience of working with women to create each individual design we sell, from scratch, to ensure a great fit for all our body types and our ever-changing bodies as women.

How important is the North East in the work that you do?

The North East really has been a catalyst for our growth in the last few months. We’ve had phenomenal support from a network of business women from across the region.

We are so appreciative of the business community who have embraced and championed us, and have made some amazing contacts, many of which have led to some amazing opportunities.

Why did you choose to work with local charity, Smart Works Newcastle, on the 2023 campaign?

Although we operate nationally, we are heavily rooted in the North East and it is important to us to support local campaigns and projects, especially those involving the elevation of women.

Our collaboration with Smart Works Newcastle for International Women’s Day 2023 strongly aligns with what we embody.

How did the collaboration come about?

Collaboration with like-minded organisations is at the heart of our 2023 plans. Smart Works Newcastle has been on our radar and when we heard about the popular Cycle for Smart Works challenge for International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD23) we knew there was a collaborative opportunity there.

The specially commissioned leggings are named ‘Kirsty’ (after the first person who accessed the services). They have been designed around the feedback of feelings evoked by Smart Works Newcastle clients and our Amazing Jane customers, and portray some very powerful messages.

The collaboration will cumulate in a host of pop-up events across the region to support the #cycleforsmartworks yearly fundraising campaign, and we’ll be announcing more soon.

The limited-edition leggings are now available for pre-order with 20% from all orders containing the Kirsty Wonder Leggings set to be donated to Smart Works Newcastle as part of the collaboration.

What values does Amazing Jane and Smart Works Newcastle share?

Amazing JaneThe collaboration with Smart Works Newcastle is especially poignant as the team supports North East women into employment through interview clothing and coaching – giving women the
confidence, self-belief and practical tools they require to succeed at an interview and to start a new chapter in their lives.

We share this ethos. We are dedicated to empowering women to lead healthy, active lifestyles through the power of clothing.

We are committed to creating activewear for women’s changing bodies, and each item of clothing at Amazing Jane is created to build confidence in women.

We want to encourage women to get into the right mindset for being active (which can often be the biggest hurdle) whilst building confidence in both how they look and their personal safety.

How will Amazing Jane be celebrating International Women’s Day this year?

We love to celebrate women every day and this year International Women’s Day will be extra special as we’ll be joining the Cycle for Smart Works Newcastle campaign.

Alongside the limited-edition leggings, we’ll be overseeing three pop-up cycle hubs across the region including Club Zest in Sunderland where people can nip in and clock up their miles.

Any other exciting plans in the pipeline for 2023?

Global expansion is most definitely on our radar and we are really excited to have been selected as one of only 20 UK businesses to join a UK Retail Summit Trade Mission to Dubai in March.

Collaboration is also at the heart of everything we do, and we feel it is such a powerful tool, so we have some wonderful collaborations in the pipeline, including some key influencers – so watch this space.
