North East Sight Matters Partners With Disney On Ice To Give Children A VIP Experience

North East Sight Matters (NESM) works with visually impaired children, young people, and their families to improve their opportunities in life.

NESM strives to create accessible, safe environments for sight impaired children and young people to enable them to try different experiences in order to inspire their creativity, encouraging more independence and self-awareness.

A group of ten young guests from NESM will be VIP guests of Disney On Ice, which arrives at the Utilita Arena, Newcastle this December as part of a national UK Tour.

The youngsters have been invited to attend a private behind-the-scenes afternoon tour, enabling exclusive access to costumes, props and show characters, as well as hearing how the exciting ice spectacular is produced from the sound, lighting and special effects teams.

That evening, the guests will take their seats to the show, alongside their families, to experience this glorious ice spectacular which features favourite Disney friends such as Mickey, Minnie, Miguel, Moana, Elsa, Belle, Genie and many more, highlighting the magic and adventure of Disney’s tales through world-class figure skating in Disney On Ice presents Dream Big.

Penny Dane, Director at NESM, said: “We love organising exciting, stimulating events for our young people and their families, and being able to join forces with the most famous mouse in the world is a big achievement!

“The response from the children when we announced we were having this exclusive behind-the-scenes opportunity and then going to see the show was truly amazing. They are all thoroughly looking forward to it and can’t wait for this pre-Christmas treat!”

The children were told about their VIP surprise trip to Disney On Ice at an afternoon tea party, hosted by North East Sight Matters.
