There’s no better way to celebrate the fantastic local produce of local farmers than a trip to Arches Cookery School at Grinkle Park Farm.

After a tea and coffee welcome, foodies will enjoy Sarah Muir’s demonstration before undertaking some hands-on cooking, creating dishes such as runner bean samosas, roast duck leg with puy lentils and sweet golden onions, chorizo and pork belly with haricot beans and spicy jerk chicken skewers and brown rice slaw.

Sounds delicious, right? Following the practical work, you’ll enjoy a beautiful lunch in the dining room.

Ladies Wellness Evening

6 OCTOBER

As the darker nights roll in, Swinton Park is lighting us up with a Ladies Wellness Evening hosted by Dr Angela Wright – GP, Menopause Specialist and Clinical Sexologist.

After a welcome drink, Dr Wright will guide the group through inspiring insights into the management of the menopause and how to protect our health as a whole.

She will be joined by Swinton Estate’s consultant nutritionist and author of the book, ‘I Wish My Doctor Had Told Me This’, who will offer tips on how healthy choices can help support hormonal shifts in the body.

The evening will finish with a Q&A and ladies will be given a goody bag to take home.

Stargazing in the Garden

Wrap up for an educational evening at the Lord Crewe Arms’ Gatehouse this October where you’ll be treated to an evening of stargazing with expert Andy Gray.

Following a beginners guide to the ‘starry sky’, you’ll venture to the bottom of the garden and have a look for yourself through the telescopes.

Complete with hot drinks and blankets, we can’t think of a better way to enjoy the start of the darker nights. Following an evening of stargazing, you’ll be invited inside to tuck into a hearty stew and delicious dessert. Perfect.
