Vice President and General Manager EMEA at Arctic Wolf

Where is home?

Three reasons you love where you live?

It’s where my family is, it’s near the beach and lastly, the culture of Newcastle is outstanding.

What do you do for a living?

I am the Vice President and General Manager of EMEA for leading cyber security firm Arctic Wolf.

A day in the life of you?

I tend to get up at 5am, head to the gym, come home, shower, have a quick breakfast with my fiance, and then head into my study for the day’s work.

Once calls are finished and dinner is done, there’s time for an hour or so of family time before bed.

Any recent, ongoing or upcoming projects or achievements we should know about?

From a work point of view, I am very proud to have announced that we are opening Arctic Wolf’s first EMEA headquarters in Newcastle.

This is planned for the middle of this year so we are already in full hiring mode in order to have the team move in as soon as it’s ready.

On a personal level, I am in the process of revalidating my pilot license which I’m lucky enough to be able to do with my dad, as well as having a wedding to plan.  I just need more hours in the day.

What does downtime mean to you?

This is something that I’m particularly bad at and need to improve on. We bought a campervan during covid so the plan is to get away and spend more time walking and discovering new places.  We also hope to travel more as the world starts opening up again.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I don’t recall as a child having a particular urge to follow any career path, once I started learning to fly I wanted to become a pilot but life had other ideas!

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Everything happens for a reason.

What is your greatest fear?

Losing people I love.

What is top of your bucket list?

To go travelling around South America.

What is your most treasured possession?

What does the weekend mean to you?

Catching up on everything I’ve not done in the week – and not getting up at 5am!

A memorable holiday?

I spent 8 months in Mexico when I was at University. It was the trip of a lifetime and one I’ll never forget.

Best dress?

The wedding dress I’m about to buy.

Who would be your top three dinner guests?

My grandfather that I never met, my great grandmother that I’ve heard so much about, and my best friend who passed away 18 months ago so that I can tell her how her daughters are growing into lovely young girls.

The last place you ate?

My hotel in Frankfurt which was the Steinberger.

The last book you read?

She Thinks Like a Boss by Gemma Roedel

The last thing you listened to?

I’ve been listening to Diary Of The CEO podcast quite a lot recently.

The last thing you watched?

The Responder on BBC. Martin Freeman is great in it.

Your three luxe things in life?

My engagement ring, my watch and my car.  My weakness though is nice shoes!
