Where is home?
Three Reasons you love where you live?
I love where I live because I’m home – I grew up in Newcastle and love being close to family, Newcastle is 20 minutes from the most beautiful countryside and 20 minutes from the stunning coast. I particularly love the small shop scene in Newcastle, you always find a gem somewhere.

What do you do for a living?
I have recently launched my business, Bulan. Bulan is a luxury homeware brand which sells everything you could possibly need to make your bedroom the most important space in your home. We sell products such as scented candles, silk eye-masks, the softest bathrobes – The list goes on! Soon we will be launching our beautiful bed linen collection. Well, I think it’s beautiful!
A day in the life of you?
An average weekday starts with a lemon and ginger tea, followed by urgent emails in bed. I have a call with my assistant and run through our tasks for the day. I catch up with my suppliers and check in with my warehouse to make sure things are running smoothly. Evenings are spent in front of the TV or trying new recipes from Hello Fresh; with the occasional glass of champagne.
Any recent, ongoing or upcoming projects or achievements that we should know about?
I have recently launched my business, Bulan, which has been exciting in itself. We are launching our Hydro Cotton robes before Christmas, which will make the perfect present for anyone who likes to be comfy and snug; particularly during lockdown!
What does downtime mean to you?
Downtime is really important to me, I can spend all day thinking about Bulan, what’s happening currently and what is happening next. I like to take time each day to relax and be calm – I think it’s really healthy for you.
Lessons in life >>
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I really wanted to be an Interior Designer, which is funny because I’ve managed to combine my love of interiors and interest in business to create my Bulan brand.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Everything happens for a reason.
What is your greatest fear?
Which living person do you admire the most and why?
My Dad John – he is such an inspiration to me. The way he has been able to build an incredible business at the same time as an amazing family, all in an effortless way and with a smile. Both his intellect and his love are neverending – he is a true hero and I love him so much.
