MY WFH REGIME: BOB ARORA

During these uncertain times, Luxe has been checking in at several 'home offices' across the region. This week, we're checking in with Bob Arora, chef and owner at Sachins, one of Newcastle’s finest Punjabi restaurants.

I GET UP ON A MORNING FOR…

It’s an early start for me before a busy day in the kitchen or in the office. I’ve been trying to keep up my usual routine as much as I can.

BREAKFAST IS…

I like to keep it simple – cereal for me. It’s usually porridge or Cornflakes.

MY DESK SET-UP INCLUDES…

My laptop takes centre stage, and it’s usually surrounded by plenty of paperwork I’ve been catching up on.

LUNCHTIME BRINGS…

Whatever it is I’ve been making on my cooking demos. Has to be done!

TO BREAK AWAY FROM MY HOME OFFICE…

I like to get outside for a nice long run or a good couple of long brisk walks. It’s a great way to stretch the legs and refocus.

WHEN 5 O’CLOCK HITS…

I switch off from work and start to unwind at home. My evening usually begins by watching The Chase or catching up on the day’s news.

I’M WATCHING…

To be honest, most things on Netflix or Amazon TV at the moment.

I’M READING…

Through some old cookbooks – lots of exciting inspiration to keep things interesting in the kitchen.

I’M LISTENING TO…

Capital Radio sets my soundtrack for the day.

3 TOP TIPS FOR STAYING AT HOME…

1. Routine – make sure you keep a routine. It’s very easy to wake up late and before you know it, you’ve lost the best part of the day.

2. Keep active – sitting in front of a laptop all day isn’t good for your health and wellbeing. It’s so important to get up and out when you can.

3. Go fresh – try and make something fresh for lunch and dinner – not only is it delicious and rewarding, but it also helps pass the time and you might even learn a new skill or two in the kitchen.

QUOTE OF THE DAY…

“Keep calm and carry on” – This quote is so relevant right now.
