Sitting between the cultural cathedral city of Ripon and the quaint, country market town of Pateley Bridge, Grantley Hall is reflective of its surroundings.
First impressions are key, and there’s no doubt about it, you’ll be blown away in an instant as you make your way along the winding round through pristine parkland. The hall sits in a stunning spot within glorious grounds. It’s regal, it’s refined and it screams real class.
Grantley Hall is home to fine dining, first-class facilities and plenty of friendly faces. Proper Yorkshire hospitality is at the heart of the venue, with the opulence of a Mayfair mansion when it comes to the design and interiors.
As the venue reopens its doors for summer, there’s no better place to while away the hours than with dinner and drinks at the Norton Bar & Courtyard. Imagine soaking up the summer sun with a bottle of blush and beautiful, Yorkshire-inspired bistro bites.
It’s a tale of two halves. On one hand, you’ve got the vibrant, Gatsby-style Norton Bar – a great spot or early evening tipples and after-dinner drinks. Here you’ll find modern elegance mixed with the original oak panelling of a traditional, 18th century manor. Pops of colour and funky furnishings bring the bar bang up to date. Pair this with an indulgent espresso martini and you’re set for the night.
On the other hand, you’ve got the bright and airy Courtyard – home to festooned fairy lights and greenery, covering beautiful bistro tables with cosy cushions and blankets. Bask in the sunshine as you listen to the River Skell trickle past whilst enjoying a bistro-style menu in the great outdoors. Open all year round, this alfresco dining option is a fantastic way to enjoy the fresh Yorkshire hair.
Norton Bar & Courtyard dishes include: smoked salmon and Whitby crab and duck liver and pork pâté starters; lobster linguine, fish and chips and summer vegetable risotto mains; and crème brûlée and lemon tart puddings – alongside signature specials from the josper grill.
Both areas allow ample opportunity to soak up the unique ambience of Grantley Hall – but in two very different ways. The Bar area flawlessly recaptures the luxurious lifestyle of bygone days – think bookshelves, antiques and plenty of soft furnishings; while the Courtyard invites drinks and diners to get lost in a whimsical and indulgent, Italian-style environment, where cosmopolitan living meets country charm.
Whether you’re staying or just passing by, pop in this summer for a mid-afternoon tipple, a pre-dinner glass of champers in the courtyard, or sink into one of the deep leather armchairs and watch the world go by after dinner.
The Norton Courtyard is currently open on weekends, Friday to Sunday and will be open fully, seven days a week from 1 August.
