MY WFH REGIME: KERRY LOCKWOOD

During these uncertain times, Luxe has been checking in at several 'home offices' across the region. This week, we catch up with blogger, writer, stylist - and Luxe interiors columnist - Kerry Lockwood.
MY WFH REGIME: KERRY LOCKWOOD

I GET UP ON A MORNING FOR…

I can’t function without a cup of tea to kickstart my day! I’ve been waking around 8am and having my first cup of tea in bed before I get up around 8.30am and do a workout. I get bored of home workouts very quickly, so I’ve been mixing them up each day. My favourites at the minute are kettlebells and skipping. Then I wake the kids, we have breakfast and start the homeschooling day.

BREAKFAST IS…

I’m more of a brunch girl, so I have a smoothie after my workout then I love a bit of avo and eggs around 11 o’clock.

MY DESK SET-UP INCLUDES…

My bullet journal, which has everything in there including daily trackers to keep me motivated. My camera, some fresh flowers, my vitamins – so I don’t forget to take them, my Anglepoise x Paul Smith desk lamp, my Bridie Hall initial pen pot and always my Rae Feather sheepskin slippers as I can’t work with cold feet!

LUNCHTIME BRINGS…

We’ve been having lots of salads during this lovely weather, or I’ll throw together a wrap or a bagel with whatever we have in the fridge. Halloumi is my best friend right now – it’s so versatile and keeps for years in the fridge.

TO BREAK AWAY FROM MY HOME OFFICE…

Most afternoons we’ve all enjoyed having a break and getting some fresh air. So we usually take the dog for a walk along the river or into the woods and pick up any essentials that we need.

WHEN 5 O’CLOCK HITS…

I pour a glass of wine, put some music or a podcast on and cook dinner.

I’M WATCHING…

I have a long list! We’ve just finished Trapped, which was on Amazon Prime. It was an Icelandic detective series. Even though it was subtitled, we really enjoyed it. We’re currently enjoying Killing Eve and going to start The Nest.

I’M READING…

I’ve just finished The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary – absolutely loved it. I’m now halfway through The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell, which is also a really good read.

I’M LISTENING TO…

All the podcasts! My current faves are The High Low, Get your Glow Back with Madeleine Shaw and Happy Place with Fearne Cotton.

3 TOP TIPS FOR STAYING AT HOME…

1. Try to structure your days where possible. It makes you more productive and stops you getting into a slump. We’ve been doing exercise first thing, having breakfast, doing a couple of hours work/homeschooling, then having a little break before lunch. Then in the afternoon we do a little more work before heading out for a walk. The days seem to be flying by.

2. Always have a shower, get dressed, brush your hair and put on a little bit of makeup. You’ll feel so much better and ready to face the day.
3. Have regular chats/video calls with family and friends so that you don’t feel too isolated. We’ve been having some fun quiz nights and we also had a family game of bingo over Zoom, which was fun!

QUOTE OF THE DAY…

“A day without laughter is a day wasted!”
