ALADDIN, TYNE THEATRE & OPERA HOUSE

Luxe joins the magic carpet ride as Aladdin flies over to the Tyne Theatre & Opera House for the festive season...

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

A fairytale favourite with all the usual panto shenanigans thrown in for good measure. Expect plenty of tongue-in-cheek one-liners, silly panto sketches and wow costumes as the story of Aladdin comes to life on stage at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House.

It tells the tale of this year’s hero – Aladdin, who fights against the evil Abanzar with the help of a magic lamp and an amazing Genie. Complete with a sensational seasonal score, dazzling dance routines and the usual panto gang, this one is sure to get families in the festive spirit this Christmas.

Join the magic carpet ride for this hilarious retelling of the tale we all know and love. It stays true to the original story and promises belly-laughing fun from start to finish.

WHO’S IN IT?

Aussie actor and star of Home and Away, Nic Westaway, is the show’s hero, Aladdin. A handsome prince to say the least. 2011 X Factor runner-up, Marcus Collins, is the Genie and David Easter is back as Abanazar. Panto favourite, Charlie Richmond is the brunt of all jokes as Wishee Washee – and has us in stitches in every scene. The lovely Hannah Wales is Princess Jasmine and brings the fairytale to life.

WHAT’S GOOD ABOUT IT?

Expect plenty of pyrotechnics and cheeky panto puns. The usual mix of pop songs, silly sketches and audience interaction as little ones are invited to join the fairytale magic.

Sing-a-long to chart favourites such as George Ezra’s Shotgun, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, Pussycat Dolls’ Jai Ho and a brilliant rendition of Elvis Presley’s Trouble by David Easter.

WHO SHOULD SEE IT?

A festive fairytale with something for everyone. Whether it’s a bit of interactive theatre fun with the kids or a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek comedy for the grown ups, this is a family show sure to put smiles on faces throughout the season.
