Wrap up, light the candles and settle in for a Scandi-style Christmas...

The lead-up to Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I love winter fashion, roaring fires, candlelight and tasty one-pot suppers. The preparation for Christmas running up to the big day is more exciting than the day itself for me…

I love winter fashion. Chunky jumpers, boots, jeans and a super soft scarf. I always pick a staple collection I can mix and match throughout the season, that can be dressed up and down depending on the occasion.

My must have pieces this season:
The Ester parka from All Saints (£378) – a super stylish coat for winter warmth. A relaxed fit, exaggerated hood and leather zip pulls. Perfect for a weekend walk, school run, a winter break or skiing trip. I know the cold Sunday mornings watching my son play rugby will be a lot warmer in this.

Leather A line skirt from Massimo Dutti with buckle belt (£139), looks effortlessly stylish with a soft knit and sneakers – or add a shirt and heels for a Christmas party night out.

• Hiking boots are bang on-trend this season, the ‘Huggy’ boots from Russell & Bromley (£225) are the perfect boot to wear whatever the weather. Pair with leather leggings, a skirt or skinny jeans. Luxuriously soft leather, wool lining and red hiking laces make these the perfect festive footwear.

Building update…

We were granted planning permission at the beginning of October and now we’re busy planning the build schedule to start early 2020. Follow @the_hudson_life on Instagram for regular updates.

I love interior styling, particularly for the autumn/winter season. Lots of candlelight, twinkly lights, Christmas decorations and the scent of a festive candle.

I love to mix textures and bring together old and new to create that real traditional Christmas vibe, with a modern edge.

We are currently living in rented accommodation whilst building our next home, so the feel this year is a little more Scandinavian. Monochrome accessories, handmade dried orange bunting, dried moss wreaths (which can be used in the home all year), metallic prints, and stone coasters, create a luxurious relaxed style. They’re inexpensive too.

If you are anything like me, you will enjoy the giving of a gift more than receiving a gift.

We have been busy in the studio, working on a range of gift ideas for Christmas. My top pick is the star square scarf, which can be styled in many ways – tied around your neck, bag or hair.

It comes beautifully presented in a branded box. Wrap in our luxurious printed wrapping paper and it’s sure to be a winning gift this year.
