It’s almost February and we’re feeling full of love at Luxe HQ. Whatever love means to you – be it friendship, family, a special someone, or quite simply a bit of ‘me time’, we’re almost certain that our spa friends at Rockliffe Hall have got the perfect recipe to give you that warm fuzzy feeling.
Checking in at the spa, switching off and being present in the moment is one of the most important aspects of self-care. Whether you want to spend quality time with a loved one, or you just want to focus on you, the pampering possibilities are endless this February – and they guarantee peace and positivity.
Pick a date with someone special, swap your winter warmers for robes and slippers and check in for a luxurious Love and Light Spa Day at Rockliffe Hall. A leisurely lunch might be your thing, you might be down for a dip in the jacuzzi, a soul-searching swim, or an afternoon spent in your very own ‘no phone zone’; whatever it may be, you’re sure to find it here and you’ll leave feeling fresh and full of life.
We’re switching off for a mid-week masterclass in ‘you and me time’. Just the trick after a busy start to the year. In the blink of an eye Christmas passed and we were straight back into action – with January deadlines looming and meetings making a mark in the 2019 diary. It seems January is all about planning, preparing and perfecting the best possible you. That can be exhausting in itself. Having a day off, listening to your body and searching for your soul, is sometimes just the ticket. We’re putting ‘feel-good February’ to the top of our to-do lists.
Fluffy robes and slippers at the ready for a serene day by the pool. On arrival, the smiling faces behind the desk take us to the Brasserie for a welcome juice and an introduction to the spa – where we really start to switch off and prepare for our pamper-perfect day. Lunch ordered with juice in hand, we’re ready to turn our minds to mute mode and dive in.
Rockliffe takes spa day couples on a wonderful wellness journey through thermal suites, hydro pools and luxurious loungers. As soon as you step through those doors and the aromas hit you, you’re whisked away to a world of wellness. A world where the mind, body and soul comes first.
A full day by the pool may seem like a lifetime, but before you know it – once you’ve had a steam, a sauna and a steady swim – it’s time for your Brasserie lunch. Wrapped up in our robes, we make our way upstairs where our lunch awaits in the bright and buzzy Brasserie. The beauty of this place is its laid-back luxury. It’s an easy-going eating spot where you can tuck in to some wholesome dishes and wander back into the real world for a moment.
A plate of hummus and pitta bread kicks off our midday munch as we sip, snack and enjoy this serene and stylish space. Next up, we’re waving goodbye to our new year diets and drooling over a plate of proper British fish and chips. The fish is soft and white with a perfectly crisp batter – and the chunky chips are what dreams are made of. Small pots of mushy peas and tartar sauce seals the deal for our traditional feast. There’s always room for dessert – today is about pampering after all. Next up is the sticky toffee pudding and warm apple tart. Delicious. The sticky toffee is everything a hearty pud should be (and more) and the warm apple tart is packed full of flavour. It certainly satisfies our sweet tooth before we retreat back to the spa.
A final touch of tranquility brings our Love and Light Spa Day to a close. We’re in for the Neom Wellbeing Ritual – 60 minutes of pure bliss, tailored to suit your current feelings, emotions and physical state. This treatment is about living in the moment and giving your body exactly what it needs.
The treatment starts with a therapist consultation where four scents are presented to you as candles – each representing Neom’s four moods: sleep, energy, de-stress and happiness. We’ll have them all, please!
The lavender scent sparks our imagination and so we opt for the ‘sleep’ ritual. Bliss. With a combination of reflexology, shiatsu, meditation and breathing techniques, this massage means drifting in and out of a dreamlike state – allowing your mind to rest and reset, while you body finds its balance, releasing the ‘zen’ within you.
If it’s not the Neom aromas and soothing sounds that whisk you away to a pampered paradise, the soul-searching treatment is sure to do just that. You’ll leave feeling like a brand new you – fully refreshed and ready to take on the world with your loved one.
If that’s not enough and you’re feeling energised after your treatment, why not check out Rockliffe’s new state-of-the-art gym? The fitness suite has had a £200,000 makeover and includes up-to-date cardio, resistance and functional training equipment from Technogym. The fresh new look comes complete with MyWellness software and a timetable of floor-based high intensity training and fitness classes.
We’re feeling far too pampered to pump up a sweat on this occasion, but we’ll certainly be back to try out the new fitness suite on site.
Make the month of love a memorable one this year with a sumptuous spa day in the hands of our friends at this beautiful resort. Relax, retreat and let love shine through this February at Rockliffe Hall.
