Richie Allen is head chef at The Orangery at Rockliffe Hall. We catch up to find out his luxe things in life...
LUXE LIFE: RICHARD ALLEN

The Birmingham-born chef comes from a family of caterers and has been cooking for  26 years. He’s currently working closely with Rockliffe Hall’s head gardener to bring the kitchen’s brand new walled garden to life for early 2019 and is also taking part in the Help for Heroes cooking competition.

Also on the ‘to do’ list is preparation for the first Rockliffe Festival of Food in February next year. Richie is happily married and dad to two boys and a Staffie.

Best wine > I’m not a fan of wine, although I do like the wines of the Alsace.

Favourite restaurant > Moor Hall, Aughton in Lancashire.

Perfect weekend > Scotland, in a log cabin with my family and my dog.

Downtime means > Doing very little, maybe fishing.

Best telly > The Walking Dead.

Best book > Anything by Dean Koontz.

Best sounds > Slaves, Foo Fighters, Gerry Cinnamon.

Best shopping city > Birmingham.

Favourite shop > The Club Shop at St Andrews.

Luxe retail treat > A nice coat.

Best buy > Trainers.

Luxe party >>

A memorable night out > Galvin at Windows top floor in Mayfair.

Perfect party > London late night bar with the wife and a few mates.

Dinner date > Anywhere with my Mrs.

Your luxe thing in life >>

My road bike, I love it like a child. It gives me freedom.
