Luxe people >>

My sisters, Mathilda and Frideswide

Luxe places >>

For a weekend > My parents’ B&B, Barmoors, just outside of Hutton-le-Hole in North Yorkshire. It’s quiet, remote and there are good walks and pubs in all directions.

For a long holiday > South of France. I used to live there as a child and speak the language so I feel very much at home.

For a treat > South America. It’s a place of such rich history and culture. I’m lucky enough to go to Peru every year.

Luxe relax >>

Best food > Doughnuts from The Proven Goods Co in Hoults Yard in Ouseburn.

Best wine > Hmm… there are some good dry German whites that I’ve had recently which I’m told are up and coming!

Favourite restaurant > I love Zucchini on the 55 degrees north roundabout. The midnight pasta dish is delicious!

Perfect weekend > On the coast in Northumberland – we spend a lot of time at a beach hut near Alnmouth, perfect respite.

Downtime means > Reading a book. Struggling with Lady Chatterley’s Lover at the moment…

Best telly > I quite like a Louis Theroux documentary when I do watch something.

Best book > I read The Miniaturist a while ago and loved it. The recent TV adaptation really didn’t do it justice!

Best sounds > Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History podcast (best voice to listen to!)

Luxe shop >>

Best shopping city > Definitely New York. I used to live there and it’s full of great little second hand shops and small designer pop-ups.

Favourite shop > At the moment an online luxury second hand shop called The Real Real. I bought the most beautiful embroidered Manolo Blahnik’s for a summer of weddings.

Luxe retail treat > Liz Earle has nice smelling things that are not too heavy on my skin.

Best buy > Some layering basics from The White T-shirt Company, a Newcastle-based label with good ethics behind them. Their organic cotton t-shirts are comfy and a great shape. Their white long sleeve round neck is my fave.

Luxe party >>

A memorable night out > Dinner at Charlotte’s Place in Ealing Broadway after a garden party at Buckingham Place… I’ve had worse days.

Perfect party > Summer in the garden with lots of Pimm’s!

Best dress > A full-length coral superfine crocheted wool number that belonged to my great grandmother. It was made for her in New York in the 1940s. I’ve worn it to several weddings this summer and so many people wanted to know where they could get it…

Dinner date > The French Quarter is pretty delicious…
