THE COCOA TREE, HELMSLEY
The cutest of coffee shops. One of our favourite, quaint coffee shops is The Cocoa Tree in Helmsley.
It’s a small, family-run business that serves fresh, local produce and bloomin’ good coffee. Pastel pinks and homemade ornaments make up the decor and the outside seating area is a lovely little hideout. The cafe also sells unique gifts so you can take something home with you or for a loved one.
CAKE STORIES, JESMOND
Jesmond’s newest cakery and coffee house combines everything any good parlour should have: cosy interiors with plenty of trendy chalkboards and scuffed brickwork character and coffee from Brazil, El Salvador and India, roasted by hand in Yorkshire.
It’s a pretty parlour indeed; small, but oh-so-inviting, made gorgeous with twinkly hanging fairy lights, chunky wooden tables of all shapes and sizes, snug sofas in the window and one very tasty cake cabinet.
BLAKES, NEWCASTLE
The coffee shop of all coffee shops. Who doesn’t love a bit of Blakes? The coffee is great, the vibe is cool and it’s in the perfect spot to explore the city centre.
This favourite has been described as an institution for coffee and food lovers alike, serving something for everyone. A cosy, hipster coffee shop.
