Why we love it: A cosy cottage combining contemporary furnishings with country-chic decor. Set in an area of unspoilt Northumbrian countryside, this wow house offers the perfect retreat after a day spent strolling through Bamburgh’s iconic sand dunes.

Our favourite feature: While the open-plan, live-in kitchen forms the heart of the home, we’re loving the luxurious living room. The big corner sofa is the place to be to enjoy a lazy afternoon. Complete with cosy cushions and throws, guests can warm up in front of the log burner as the sun sets over Bambrugh Castle.


Where is it: Craster, Northumberland.

Why we love it: This cute, character property in Craster is just a stone’s throw away from the village, the harbour and the local pubs and cafes. Tucked behind L. Robson & Sons smokery, we can’t think of a better location for this coastal gem.

Our favourite feature: Entering through a stone archway and with exposed beams and an original fireplace inside, there are period features galore in this gorgeous cottage. We love the white-washed interiors and the seaside touches in the loft bedrooms.





Where is it: Lesbury, Northumberland

Why we love it: An escape to the country. The Coach House combines comfort, style and elegance. We love the high vaulted ceilings, the exposed stonework and the nods to country life, in everything from the lounge to the courtyard entertaining areas.

Our favourite feature: There’s an enchanting sense of escape and warmth throughout the entire house, but we can’t get enough of the kitchen and boot room. The kitchen is a great space for entertaining, while the boot room makes for a perfect place to kick off those wellies and rest those legs after Northumberland walks.


Where is it: Bamburgh, Northumberland

Why we love it: An open and airy space with clean, Scandi lines and gorgeous grey interiors. The floor to ceiling windows and the orangery-like dining area creates the perfect Bamburgh backdrop.

Our favourite feature: The bench-style dining table and the contemporary bi-folding doors brings the picnic inside, with no compromise on the stunning south-facing views. We also love the funky bedroom wallpaper – the fabulous flamingo design being our favourite!





Where is it: Ullswater, Cumbria

Why we love it: The ultimate family getaway in the Lakes. With breathtaking views, a yoga terrace and state-of-the-art kitchen for the grown ups, cinema room, an enclosed garden and outdoor play equipment for smaller guests, it ticks all the boxes for a staycation.

Our favourite feature: Luxury suites, sumptuous spa facilities and entertaining space aside, we can’t get enough of the lakeside views.


Where is it: Leyburn, Yorkshire

Why we love it: Go here for a peaceful country getaway, in the humble hamlet of Newbiggin-in-Bishopdale, connecting the Yorkshire Dales with Wensleydale. The Byre is a contemporary cottage boasting 18th century features, meaning you get that feeling of a rural retreat, but with all the latest mod-cons you’d expect from a city break.

Our favourite feature: The farmhouse kitchen is our favourite feature at The Byre. This beautiful, bespoke space finished with the finest oak and granite, makes for the ultimate country kitchen with all the facilities you could possibly need. Venture into the Dales, pick up some local produce and enjoy it in the comfort of this cosy country retreat.





Where is it: Bampton, Cumbria

Why we love it: A luxurious lake house combining the tranquility of sparkling shoreline views with adrenaline-fuelled adventures. Nature-seekers will love the location and immediate wildlife, while people looking for an away-from-it-all retreat can relax, unwind and enjoy the pace of life by the beautiful waters.

Our favourite feature: Without a doubt, the style and design. Art deco interiors spring to mind, comprising steel beams, concrete ceilings and contemporary furnishings. We love the industrial-style decor with country-inspired pieces thrown in for comfort and cosiness.
