Hardwick Live brings Kaiser Chiefs, Vintage Trouble and Ash in a star-studded line-up on Saturday 18 August, at the region’s biggest live music festival. All happening in the grounds of Hardwick Hall at Sedgefield, County Durham, with Happy Mondays, Shed Seven, Feeder, Echo & The Bunnymen and Melanie C on Sunday 19 August. This weekend’s events also include exciting dining menus and demos from Terry Laybourne’s 21 Group and Marcus Bennett, from The Bay Horse, Hurworth.

Wave wild for Proms in the Park this week in the magnificent gardens of Castle Howard. Guest soloists include: Lesley Garrett CBE and tenor Geraint Dodd, who will be joined on stage by the London Gala Orchestra conducted by Stephen Bell. The programme will include popular classics, songs from musicals and all of your flag-waving favourites from the Proms, including Jerusalem and Rule Britannia. A Spitfire flyover, stunning lasers and spectacular firework finale makes for a magical evening in the glorious gardens.
