LUXE PEOPLE >>

My husband John, daughter Josie and son Alex.

LUXE PLACES >>

For a weekend > London – I love the vibe.  It’s non-stop, totally busy and only three hours away by train. The tremendous transport links are perfect for getting around – especially for sampling the delights of the vibrant London beer scene.

A long holiday > One of my most memorable holidays was travelling along the west coast of America and up into Alaska. It has it all; great people, scenery and wildlife. It also provided the inspiration for Tyne Bank as throughout the trip we encountered small breweries with restaurants, or tap rooms, providing great craft beer served by knowledgeable friendly staff in great locations.

A treat > My annual spa day. Relaxation time is so precious and a must for recharging the batteries.

LUXE RELAX >>

Best food > A family Sunday roast.

Best wine > A crisp Sancerre. Although you can’t beat our 6% Mocha Milk Stout with dessert.

Favourite restaurant > Currently Branches in Ponteland. Great food, service and value.

Perfect weekend > Warm, sunny and dry weather and time spent at a cottage somewhere in the UK with the family. We’d go for long walks and have several games of Cluedo.

Downtime means > Escape from being constantly contactable!

Best telly > Line of Duty.

Best book > Children of Men by P.D. James.

Best sounds > Morcheeba – amazing digital and live.

LUXE SHOP >>

I’m not a big shopper – I tend to buy my essentials online. I do love jewellery, though, and tend to buy pieces to remind me of significant places.

Best shopping city > Newcastle, because I know where everything is.

Favourite shop > Independent jewellers.

Best buy > Antique lab school desks for the Tap Room.

LUXE PARTY >>

A memorable night out > The first brewery birthday party. At 5pm, we hoped a few people would turn up, but ended up flat out all night and had the best after-party with the staff to celebrate.

Perfect party > My wedding day, which was more of a party with all our friends.

Best dress > My wedding dress. When are you ever going to spend that much on one dress again?

Dinner date > A night in the Tap Room when the crepe vendors are in. Perfect for sweet and savoury options during the night, accompanied by a pint of Tyne Bank Beer.
