Toast to the Bank Holiday at Eaglescliffe’s very first Beer Festival, hosted by Three Brothers Brewing Company. Enjoy over 30 traditional and craft beers and lagers, speciality gins, wine and Prosecco and all kinds of cider. You’ll have the chance to meet the brewers and enjoy live entertainment, too.
Liven up your weekend at this year’s Lindisfarne Festival. Grab your passes to see over 150 bands, including Happy Mondays, take to 10 stages overlooking Holy Island. Don your best fancy dress, bring along your best glamping gear, stock up on booze and head-bang your way from Friday to Sunday.

This year’s Weardale Agricultural Show promises a fun-filled family day out. Think children’s entertainment, face-painting, crazy golf, assault courses, falconry displays, craft and farmers’ market tents and soft play for the little ones.
Take them to Rockliffe Hall’s Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party, during which they’ll be treated to blueberry glitter cake, strawberry hearts and multi-coloured doughnuts, followed by fun activities and games in the new Mischmasch playground.
Get yourselves along to Wylam Brewery’s Grill-a-Warfare, during which some of the best local BBQ joints will be putting their patties on the lines to win best burger. Nab your tokens, grab a beer (or gin) and taste your way through the afternoon.
The Great North Feast promises a weekend-long street food celebration. Head for Bents Park, South Shields, to sample the delights of a handful of the region’s best foodie vendors, topped off with beer, cocktails and gin from pop-up bars.
