Fenwick is set to showcase the North's finest food and drink this summer in celebration of the Great Exhibition of the North...

Over the coming weeks, Fenwick Newcastle will be hosting a series of bespoke events in celebration of the Great Exhibition of the North, bringing some of the region’s best producers, brands and chefs to the forefront. The carefully-designed visitor experiences include everything from cocktail masterclasses and exclusive supper clubs with renowned chefs, to an exciting night market in the store’s renowned Food Hall, complete with live music and tempting pop-up stalls.

Fenwick Food Hall Night Market

The Food Hall will be transformed into a bustling, after-hours food market on July 13-14, filled with the tempting stalls and pop-up bars, showcasing the finest produce the store has to offer.

Spend your tokens on all that your eyes and bellies desire at the pop-up bars (devoted to all things gin, wine, champagne and craft beer) and street food stalls, packed with the likes of oysters, classic Spanish tapas, cheese and charcuterie, sliders and eclairs.

While you browse and sample, live bands will fill the air with uplifting tunes and you’ll also get to meet a few of the region’s best-loved producers. When you’re done, settle in at either Fuego, Saltwater Fish Company and Porterhouse Butcher and Grill for a late-night supper.

Tickets are priced at £15, and include entry, one drink (either Estrella, Sangria or an alcoholic alternative) and three tokens. Additional tokens can be purchased for £3 each. Doors open at 6pm and last entry is at 9pm. Restaurants open ’til 10pm (last orders at 9pm).

Great Northern Supper Clubs

Organised by celebrated chef and restaurateur, Terry Laybourne of 21 Hospitality Group, The Great Northern Supper Clubs feature a number of national and international award-winning chefs, who will share insights and anecdotes while cooking for an intimate audience.

‘The range of outstanding chefs and producers shows the diversity of Northern cooking and food,” says Terry. “It’s a unique opportunity for people in the region to sample great cooking while also being able to meet and talk to the chefs and food producers.”

Many of the supper clubs have already sold out – but there are still one or two not-to-be-missed experiences still available, including an evening with Indian chef and author, Maunika Gowardhan, on July 9, Yorkshire chef, Billy White, on July 17 and Frances Atkins of Yorke Arms in North Yorkshire, on August 6.

Tickets are priced at £75 for a multi-course menu, including wine.
