Magnificent music, with a bit of everything else thrown in, Kynren is the epic tale of England, performed by a cast and crew of 1,000 in the grand grounds of Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland. The world-class show is back for 2018, taking audiences on a breathtaking journey through 2,000 years of history, myth and legend. The production is brought o life through stunning sets, combat, stunts, horsemanship, pyrotechnics and special effects, all set to a thrilling original soundtrack. Prepare to be blown away in 90 action-packed minutes, depicting 29 scenes, told through the yes of a 10-year-old boy. An absolute must-see for families – starting this Saturday.

The Great Exhibition of the North is taking over Newcastle for a season-long cultural event, celebrating the pioneering spirit of the North. Dobson & Parnell on Queen Street are getting in on all the action with a delicious exhibition-inspired menu featuring dishes such as black pudding, Granny Smith relish and house-cured bacon to start; roast chicken breast with mashed potato, green beans, and hazelnut dressing for mains; and Yorkshire strawberry and elderflower eton mess for dessert.
