The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair arrives at The Biscuit Factory, celebrating the best in local craft and design. An opportunity to buy and commission must-have work by over 50 specially-selected artists and designers, working in ceramics, textiles, jewellery, furniture, lighting, print and more.
Green-fingered weekenders are invited to get creative at Wynyard Hall’s Summer Floral Workshop. Lead by an expert tutor, you’ll make your very own, summer-inspired arrangement in the sunny and serene surroundings of The Glasshouse. We hear green foliage and pastel blooms are all the rage!

WITH THE KIDS
Take them to Preston Park’s Fire Engine & Vintage Vehicle Show. They’ll get to see over 300 vintage vehicles, of all types, on display, plus motorbike stunt shows, fire engine parades and fire-fighter displays, who will showing off their live-saving skills.
Littles ones can take part in Durham’s annual Rainbow Dash – back for its 5th year. Colour yourselves happy in vibrant powder while enjoying a run, jog or stroll, through Hamsterley Forest. A bright event for all the family – including kids five and under.
FOODIE
Northallerton’s Homegrown Food Festival is back for its 7th year, with the same great mix of tasty food stalls, fun activities, creative, local chefs and growing enthusiasts. This year will be exploring food for health and wellbeing.
Mooch fresh, veggie-packed food stalls, packed with locally-produced treats, and forage in wildlife gardens, learning all about the love between food and nature, at Whitley Bay’s Green Bean Market. Bellies full, try yoga or shop for up-cycled and recycled goods.
