Wynyard Hall is set to wow guests this Valentine’s Day with a series of romantic experiences. Nothing says ‘I love you’ more than retreating for a dreamy getaway. For £225, couples can enjoy bubbly and chocolate-dipped strawberries on arrival, an overnight stay and dinner in the two AA rosette Wellington Restaurant. Food fanatics can check in and enjoy delectable dinner à deux served from 14th – 17th February, priced at £55 per person and including a five-course meal and glass of prosecco. Couples wishing to be romanced with relaxation, are invited to enjoy the Salon Sweethearts experience. Priced at £150 per couple, the package includes a Natura Bissé Rejuvenation Face and Body treatment, plus a glass of fizz and two-course lunch. Never missing an opportunity to uphold the quintessentially British tradition, Wynyard Hall is also hosting Afternoon Tea at the Movies on Wednesday 14th February. For £23.50 per person, guests can enjoy a selection of tasty treats, and watch the all-time favourite romantic drama, Pride and Prejudice. Couples seeking a more creative experience can join the Vino and Vermicelli cookery workshop. Held in the Glasshouse on Saturday 17th February and priced at £50 per person, the masterclass will teach guests how to make delicious fresh pasta dishes.

Dig in to some fancy French food with added ooh la la at the buzzy bistro that is Bistrot Pierre in Middlesbrough this Valentine’s Day. This super-classy spot complete with luxe decor and twinkling lights makes for the perfect date night destination. Book in for their fabulous three-course feast with a glass of sparkling Veuve Devienne Rosé for £29.95. After an apéritif of sparkling rosé, diners can tuck in to starters such as French onion soup, homemade paté, honey-glazed goats’ cheese and oak-smoked Scottish salmon. All mains come served with fresh seasonal vegetables and include: slow-braised beef bourguignon, Moroccan spices shoulder of lamb, sea bass, pan-fried chicken, steak and a warm tartlet of caramelised onions. Sweeten the deal with a chocolate brownie, warm sticky toffee pudding, crème brûlée or lemon tart. Or finish with a rustic French cheese board if a savoury sweet is your cup of tea.


Mr. Petit is a small but intimate foodie hotspot in Newcastle – and we can’t think of anywhere better for a cute Valentine’s dinner. Complete with flickering candles and lanterns lighting up the windowsills, it’s a perfect spot for a romantic celebration. This Valentine’s Day, the restaurant is running a set menu for £29 per couple. Desserts will be served on a scrumptious sharing platter and will be packed with cinnamon dusted churros, hazelnuts with custard and caramelised spiced pineapple. Sounds delicious, right? All will go down wonderfully with a bottle of prosecco or house wine to share. The offer will run within normal opening hours and will be available to book from Monday 12th – Saturday 17th February.


Experience fine dining at home this Valentine’s Day by showering your loved one with Six dishes thanks to the ‘Six at Home’ experience. You can have a romantic night in this year, taking BALTIC Six’s delicious dining experience and bringing it home. Hospitality group, Fresh Element, are at the centre of this new foodie experience, introducing a meal kit that includes a box full of fresh, local, pre-measured ingredients with instructions and a menu – meaning that for only £50, the budding chef in your life can cook up a restaurant-quality storm at home. Couples can enjoy Six’s homemade charcuterie, herb focaccia and pickled apple puree to start, a 40 day dry-aged Northumbrian steak served with truffled mash, broccoli, toasted almonds and herb oil for mains and handmade chocolate petit fours to finish the experience.
