It’s time of year when we crave a hefty dose of fresh, sea air to blow away the festive cobwebs. We also long for quiet streets and not a lot of conversation – instead, lots of cosy pillows and throws, a comfy sofa, a cup of coffee and soothing views. And this cool away-from-it-all pad is perfect for all that.
The Waterfront forms part of a high-quality conversion of a Grade II listed building, sat within walking distance of Berwick town centre and right near the sparkling shore. By car, the beautiful borders countryside and coastline are easily accessible.
Once a whaling house and a home for sail making, the building has taken on a new lease of life after being transformed into an impressive, modern conversion into 12 superior townhouses.
Our favourite thing about it? It has to be the views. Peek through the property’s floor-to-ceiling windows and you’ll discover spectacular sea views as far as Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island. There’s also a small, ‘secret’ garden to be found, tucked up some steep steps behind the house. Worth the climb for the views!
Design-wise, we really like the mix of huge timber roof beams, deep window cills and cast iron columns and professionally-designed interior décor that enhances the architecture.
Get cosy in the living area – snuggle up on the large L-shaped sofa, or sink into a bean bag, and indulge in all your favourite shows and movies on the flat screen TV – or cook up a storm in the contemporary fitted kitchen.
All bedrooms offer sea views to help you relax and drift off (anyone else love the sound of the waves?), en-suite bathrooms are equipped with jacuzzi baths and separate showers.
