If thoughts of Valentine’s Day are floating around your head, consider Erin’s Cottage for your romantic getaway – a sweet spot for couples wanting a base from which to explore the delights of Durham, Darlington and Bishop Auckland with minimal fuss.

The property is ancient, stone-based winner, found in the picturesque, rural village of Sunderland Bridge – just three miles away from Durham’s city centre. Extensively refurbished in 2017, it now has gas central heating throughout to keep you toasty, as well as a heap of modern amenities to have you feeling at home, such as two large Freeview HD TVs and DVD players.

Room-wise, the cottage boasts a king size bedroom, modern lounge/dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen and spacious shower room. Guests can also enjoy use of the large, sunny garden to the rear, which benefits from fantastic countryside views. There, you’ll also find a BBQ and patio seating, incase the weather perks up.

The cottage is easily accessed by car from the A167 with links to many places of interest. Ample on-street parking is available to the front of the property. Frequent bus services provide connections to Durham, Darlington and Bishop Auckland, with excellent train services from Durham.
