We’ve gone and found a little gem in the heart of Alnmouth – thanks to our Luxe pooch.
Discover St Valery – a relaxing beachside hideaway for grown-ups. Here, you’ll find comfy beds dressed in the finest Egyptian cotton, silk pillows and duvets, fluffy towels, luxurious bathroom goodies and mouthwatering home-cooked breakfasts, made with lovely local produce.
As soon as you step inside, you’ve got a friend in the team at St Valery B&B (lovely Harvey and his house dog Roxy). They make you feel very special as they welcome you into their home – a stunning Victorian house with high ceilings, original mosaic fireplaces and location-inspired artworks.
The place is beautifully decorated. It’s elegant, light and it’s homely. Whether you want to cosy up in your room with your pooch, enjoy the communal dining room with roaring fire or take in the fresh sea air on the terrace – the place is yours to roam and you’ll be greeted with smiling faces.
The bedrooms are plush and pretty and come equipped with everything you’d wish for for a luxe weekend away. From Elemis bathroom essentials and fluffy bathrobes, to pillow sprays, eye creams and homemade doggy treats with a little love note from Roxy. Humans don’t miss out in the treats department either – with a sweet pot in every room for a post-walk sugar fix, an honesty bar with every tipple you could ever wish for and a spot of homemade cake to kickstart the afternoon.
St Benedict is our home for the weekend. A bright and airy ground floor room with the aromas of Neom candles zipping through the air. Delightful. It’s the perfect cosy yet contemporary hideaway for a bit of post-pub lunch downtime and somewhere to put your feet (and paws) up after a day of roaming through the sand dunes.
Days at St Valery mean you can do as little or as much as you like. Stay a while, explore – and enjoy your stay in Alnmouth’s only boutique B&B. It’s right on the high street, just a few minutes stroll from the stunning sandy beach. Head to the bottom of the road and catch the sunrise, enjoy an early morning sandy stroll and watch the village wake up before heading back for brekkie.
Alfie can’t wait to come back. He’s barking mad about this sweet little spot on the streets of Alnmouth – and he can’t wait to catch up with Roxy again soon!
