Families can enjoy crafty delights and sights at this year’s Staithes Festival. Head to the beach to see Whitby-based willow sculptor, Emma Stodhard, and her elephant family – sweet work commissioned by Prince Charles.
Pooch-mad packs and kids are invited to the North East Dog Festival at Kirkley Hall on Saturday. Pick up toys and treats at the trade stalls, watch the canine action at the main ring and play on the carnival-style rides.
FOODIE
Malton’s Harvest Food Festival takes centre stage this weekend. Expect a harvest of game, seafood, wild and foraged food, fresh fruit, baking galore, street food and over 80 stalls packed with autumnal Yorkshire produce.
Saltburn Farmers’ Market returns for September. Head there on Saturday for fresh, local finds, world street food and micro-brewery beers. Great if you fancy a wander and nabbing some treats for Sunday’s brekkie.
