Now in her 20th year in the business, Linda Miller is delighted to have been been part of the growing business over the years and excited for new developments ahead. We catch up to find out her luxe things in life…

My family are the most important, my husband Ray is amazing, always offering support and encouragement, we have been married for 35 years that is a lot of love! We are both very proud of our son Steven and daughter Joanne who have done really well in their own careers as well as keeping me very grounded.

For a weekend > My step-daughter Helen and her family live in St Albans, so we regularly go there for the weekend; it is always great fun spending time with the grandchildren Evan and Alex. Hertfordshire has become a second home.

A long holiday > We love Italy, especially Sorrento and beautiful Amalfi coast; we have also been a couple of times to Lake Garda and love the beautiful lake and its surroundings, not forgetting the lovely food and wine.

Best food > Italian is my favourite, but as I am a food lover, a simple cheese scone or fish and chips at Trenchers is always a pleasure.

Best wine > I’m not really a wine connoisseur but I do enjoy a chilled glass of prosecco by a hot tub.

Favourite restaurant > Being part of a great team here at Kymel, my first choice has to be the Crab & Lobster, I may be biased but I’m included in the many who say the staff are very welcoming and friendly and the quality of  food is exceptional – and the assiette of desserts is a great way to try a bit of everything sweet.

Perfect weekend > A journey to St Alban’s and having quality time with all of the family together.

Downtime means > Being a simple girl, there is nothing better than a cup of tea, with my feet up in front of the TV.

Best telly > A good drama series is favourite. Sunday at 10pm is not the same without Line of Duty’s cliff hanger, which always left me on the edge of my seat wondering who was Balaclava man. I can’t wait for the next series!

Best book > I don’t have much time for reading but recently I bought a Kindle so I have read a few books lately, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins was a favourite and kept me awake at night as I could not put it down.

Best theatre > I recently went to see Stepping Out in London starring Amanda Holden, I loved it, it was so funny and the tap dancing was brilliant to watch.

Best sounds > Tamla Motown always gets me singing out loud, this must be an age giveaway.

Best shopping city > I have shopped in many cities, but as a shopaholic being at home in Newcastle is my favourite.

Favourite shop > Anything from Mint Velvet makes me happy.

Luxe retail treat > It has to be my Cartier watch as this was an unexpected treat for my long service and big birthday.

Best buy > A bugaboo pram for my daughter’s first child due in July, we are so excited.

Perfect party > We love to celebrate New Year’s Eve with our friends Linda and Paul, this usually includes dinner and an overnight stay.

A memorable night out > Joanne, Steven and I arranged a surprise 60th party for my husband Ray. When he walked into the room and saw all his friends and family, the look on his face was priceless.

Best dress > My all-time favourite was a red evening dress from Karen Millen, one day I will fit into it again!

Dinner date > I love to meet up with the ‘girls’ I used to work with years ago at Fenwick Newcastle, we usually have a good catch up at Jamdani, Whickham where the curries are amazing.

One word: food, it helps to me to work rest and play
