BAY TREE BARN, NIDDERDALE

What was once a 19th century barn is now a luxurious holiday home for up to four people...

Mini-moons, weekends away with a couple of chums, family getaways – they’re all good fun. And when it comes to finding the perfect hideaway for four, they don’t get much better than Bay Tree Barn – a lovingly-restored country barn, decked out with fabulous interiors, in an idyllic setting.

You’ll find it in a tranquil hillside location, just outside the village of Dacre Banks in Nidderdale ANOB (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in lovely North Yorkshire, bordering the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the east and south and just 10 miles from Harrogate.

Lay your head in either room one or two, both of which are beautifully-appointed for maximum comfort. Calm and relaxing with soft duck egg tones, linen and silk curtains, room one is a heavenly space.

The vaulted ceiling adds to the spacious and airy feel. Crisp white linens and soft feather pillows adorn the super king-size zip-and-link bed. Expect to find a roomy wardrobe, a flat screen smart TV, a deluxe en-suite bathroom with full-size bath with a shower and stylish Italian marble.

Room two offers popping colour and again a fabulous zip and link bed, dressed with crisp white linen. Dramatic coral linen curtains adorn the wardrobe, while aquamarine silk curtains and reveal the breathtaking views. Again, the deluxe en-suite bathroom features a full-size bath with a shower over and it’s also flooded with light to refresh you in the mornings. Come nightfall, dim the lights and relax in a hot bubbly bath – it’s made for moments like those.

In the large open plan living space – perfect for entertaining – you’ll find a beautiful bespoke kitchen complete with everything you need for a relaxing holiday, including a fully-equipped kitchen with the finest china, top-of-the-range microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, American-style fridge freezer and separate WC on the ground floor. And if you don’t fancy cooking every night, the Timble Inn is only a 15-minute drive away (we hear the food is delicious).

The spacious sitting room is a highlight – it’s an open-plan hub, complete with a stylish stove to keep you nice and toasty in the cooler months, and a huge comfy sofa to snuggle up on in front of the TV. All mod cons (LCD TV, DVD player, MP3 docking station, WiFi) are included. The ground floor is kept warm and cosy with underfloor heating, too.

Outside, you’ll find private gardens and a gorgeous terrace with outdoor furniture. A great spot for al fresco dining, with only the sound of birds for company.
