This chic holiday home is the perfect place to drop your bags – and lose your cares – for a long weekend during the summer months. Found close to the market town of Richmond, it offers up to eight chums or family members oodles of space, privacy and modern luxury to relax in – plus a recently renovated annex, decked out with a large double bed and en-suite.
It’s surrounded by acres of private park and woodlands, which play a major part in the overall experience of the property, and tons of outdoor space – ideal for alfresco entertaining. Guests can enjoy their own private, log burning hot-tub (a unique art installation created by architect and designer Amanda Levete) and an outdoor cooking experience thanks to a Patagonia Grill Station, as well as relaxing by fire pit while the kids explore the wooden lookout tower, complete with a secure den and viewing balcony with views across the surrounding fields.
Sour Beck runs through the field opposite and there are plenty of great picnic sites to be found. It’s a short walk to the bluebell woodland gardens, home to a superb collection of rare trees and shrubs, including bamboos, magnolias and witch hazels.
The main entrance to this three bedroom holiday property is via large glass sliding doors, which provide access to the heart of the property; a spacious and impressive living and dining area where guests can kick-back with friends and family and take in the views of the countryside.
Carefully-selected interiors and art pieces create an inspiring and eclectic living area, including some well-considered Damien Hirst pieces which adorn the walls in the lounge area. You’ll also find, in pride of place, a table football machine.
Upstairs is just as impressive, with two double bedrooms, each with sliding doors opening on to the south-facing sun terrace. The master bedroom has a feature roll-top bath in the bedroom and a further en-suite. The third bedroom is smaller, suitable for children, and has two single divan beds. There is also a house bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.
