We’d forgive you for thinking lodges are just for Christmas – there’s nothing quite like cocooning in a cabin as the snow begins to fall to get you a festive frame of mind. But what about retreating to a luxury lodge mid-year when the weather’s perking up and the world seems gorgeously green?

Turns out, a woodland break in spring feels just as good and cosy – and if you’re looking for the perfect place, consider Lemmington Lodge, up near the Cheviot Hills.

Purpose-built to offer guests a safe, luxurious and tranquil escape, the cedar clad home offers heaps of space – enough for six adults, with three double en-suite bedrooms. All boudoirs have super king double beds, but can be transformed into twins on request.

All bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling doors opening on to the garden and terraces that surround the lodge. En-suite bathrooms are big and benefit from showers over the bath – except for one which also features a separate walk-in shower.

Digital radios and wall-mounted LED televisions with integrated DVD players are provided for your convenience, as are luxey toiletries, Egyptian cotton bedding, bathrobes and towels. Duvets are provided as standard and cosy cotton sheets and blankets are available on request, too.

The large, open-plan living area features a panoramic sliding door, opening out to a stone terrace and stunning mountain views. Sumptous sofas provide comfortable seating around a wood-burning stove and a large LED TV with integrated DVD player – perfect for unwinding after a day exploring Northumberland. Check out the library, too, which is stocked with classic books, board games and DVDs for all ages.

The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, fan-assisted oven, ceramic hob, integrated microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a wide range of cooking utensils, appliances, crockery and chic glassware.

A spacious garden, bordering mature woodland, surrounds the lodge and features two terraces with gorgeous garden furniture and a barbecue.
