You’ll find the fully-furnished, grade II listed property in Sleights – a tranquil village in the heart of the Esk Valley. The historic seaside town of Whitby lies less than four miles away and the cottage is surrounded by miles upon miles of unspoilt greenness for walking, hiking and romantic strolls. The likes of York, Pickering, Scarborough, Helmsley, Castle Howard are within an hour’s drive.
Inside, make yourself at home in the cosy living room – preferably by the wood burning stove, among the mountains of chic pillows, with a glass of red in hand. Great on chilly winter evenings. Marvel at the Pinterest-worthy solid oak flooring, pretty painted furniture and pink chandelier, and take advantage of the flatscreen TV and basket of romantic movies, boardgames and playing cards.
All cooking can be done in the fully-equipped kitchen. Rustle up brunchy bites or all your favourite picnic essentials and pack them in the hamper that’s provided. Cool extras include Emma Bridgewater pottery and Cath Kidston cutlery.
In the bedroom, you’ll discover an antique French double bed, made perfect with fresh bed linen from The White Company, Egyptian cotton sheets and feather quilts. Slumber in style underneath the crystal chandelier.
The gorgeousness continues outside in Lavender’s colourful private garden, filled old-fashioned roses, honeysuckle and, of course, plenty of vibrant lavender. This comes alive in the summer – a time during which guests can get outdoors and entertain around the small chimenea and flickering lanterns come nightfall.
