WEEKENDER

Shaun Hurrell is owner of and chef at Barrio Comida - a traditional Taqueria on Newcastle's Quayside at the site of the city's pop-up seasonal beach, NE1's Quayside Seaside. The restaurant will provide year round activity on the site.

Friday night – gladrags or sofa?
A couple of years ago it would have been a different story, but nowadays it’s definitely the sofa!

A super Saturday?
Chill-out time with the kids during the day and dinner and drinks at night with the lady.

We can whisk you away for two dream days. Where would you go?
A day in the Mexican city of Oaxaca mooching the markets, then a beach day at Yucatan.

Memorable mini-break?
New York, a couple years ago. Stayed at Soho House by Chelsea market. It’s such a buzzing city and I love the restaurant scene there.

Sunday best?
A relaxed morning with coffee and the papers, Sunday lunch cooked by someone else and a film at night.
