TOP 6 CHRISTMAS ADVERTS

bvbv1: Coca Cola Christmas Truck (1995-onwards)

This Christmas staple is one that has certainly stood the test of time. The iconic fleet of Coca Cola trucks first graced our screens in 1995 and continues to bring the magic year after year (although there are a few variations out there). There’s just something about that ‘holidays are coming’ jingle that making us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. See the scene up close and personal as the truck now makes its way across a hopefully snowy UK as part of the Christmas truck tour. It arrives in Newcastle on November 23.

rrrrrr2: Mog’s Christmas Calamity (2015)

Judith Kerr’s famous cat creation, Mog, hit our screens as part of Sainsbury’s 2015 advert when the supermarket brought the classic children’s book to life. It’s a one that tugs on the heartstrings of pet-lovers everywhere and reminds us how even the worst Christmas catastrophes can be salvaged simply by a little family and community lovin’.

ytytyt3: Man on the Moon (2015)

Many say nobody does Christmas adverts like John Lewis – and we’d agree with them on that. Last year, the retail giant struck gold with its Man on the Moon campaign collab with Age UK. In a truly moving piece of film, we watch a little girl making an estranged old man’s Christmas wishes come true by sending a special gift up to him high above the stars. Grab those tissues – it still gives us the goosebumps.

zzz4: Take That do Christmas (2008)

Who would turn down a Christmas greeting from Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald? Certainly not us. In one of Marks & Spencer’s best Christmas ads to date, famous faces such as Twiggy, Lily Cole, Mylene Klass and Erin O’Connor, bring the fun-factor, reminding us that Christmas isn’t all stress and strain.

ttt5: Boots (2014)

Boots released an unexpected gem a couple of years back, telling the tale of a tired nurse who sacrifices her Christmas to care for others. But when she returns home early on Boxing Day morning, she finds so much more than a few prezzies under her tree. It’s a tearjerker that makes you want to go home and squeeze your family tight.

ccc6: Tesco (2013)

What do you get when you combine Rod Stewart’s husky voice with a fuzzy montage of old-school home videos depicting a family Christmas through the years, you ask? You get Tesco’s 2013 advert. It’s super simple, but really effective, highlighting the highs and lows of the big day with your loved ones. Arguments, excitement, babies, grandparents, paper hats, turkeys, the lot. A one everyone can relate to. Very heartwarming.
