Lanterns, lights and late nights

Indoors Out
I love the idea of extending your home style into your garden and this Sambala two seater lounger from Lombok is a beautiful piece designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The hand carved luxurious design and solid natural teak wood means no two pieces of this Indonesian furniture are the ever the same. You can enjoy the lounger in the garden during the summer months as the cushions shown are specifically for outdoor use, then bring it back indoors for the winter ready for a Christmas cushion makeover!

VegaLanternBy Candlelight
Lanterns always have been, and always will be, a staple accessory for the garden to create an inviting atmosphere. I like to splash out and update my lanterns each year as they soon look weathered after a harsh Yorkshire Dales’ Winter. Last year I was all about wicker, this year I am opting for oversized (inspired by recent Greek holiday) and contemporary industrial. These Vega lanterns from, made from blackened zinc and glass, are at the top of my list.

Dome80LeggeroHot Stuff
I love the juxtaposition of the two steel finishes within this contemporary Fire Pit design. The bowl of the Yanartas Fire Pit from is sanded to ensure natural rust forms over time, while the legs are hand-finished using the highest quality stainless steel. This fire pit takes its name from a Mediterranean land, which has been burning for at least 2,500 years and its shape is a reflection on nature’s eternal recurrence with a central element of fire.

YanartasSteelFirePitYou can also purchase a BBQ grate to go with the Fire Pit and have the legs inscribed with a personal message. Alternatively, what about Jamie Oliver’s Dome80 Leggero Wood-Fired Oven? Yorebridge House is adorned with string lights throughout and I never tire of admiring their prettiness and the atmosphere they create. I believe string lights will remain a garden staple for some time and it will be lots of fun seeing all the fab and funky new designs appearing on the market as designers aim to step away from the traditional styles. I personally love these quirky coloured solar lightbulb strings that will give any outdoor space a cool urban twist and keep us all in a summer party mood. In the words of Russ Abbot, “I love a party with a happy atmosphere”!
