Downtime means > Wandering around an art gallery. It always inspires me to pick up a paintbrush.

Best telly > A classic black and white film on a rainy weekend afternoon.

Best Theatre > I adore the ballet; Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake at Theatre Royal was spectacular.

Best Book > It has to be Jane Eyre. Jane taught me that the possibilities for life are endless for those who take risks.

Best sound > Excited children’s voices as they explore the grounds of our school.

Best shopping > Newcastle is such a vibrant city, a shopper’s paradise in my view.

Favourite Shop > Either John Lewis or Fenwick – hard  to choose.

Luxe retail treat > Relaxing at Redford’s – hair by Graham. I always leave the salon feeling fabulous.

Best buy > My cottage in Bamburgh.

A memorable night out > Celebrating my daughter Sophie’s 21st birthday. So proud as her mum to see how she has grown into a confident, happy and strong young woman.

Perfect Party > Yet to come, my sister’s 50th birthday party next March. I can’t wait, it will be a night to remember.

Best Dress > A champagne Max Mara gown I wore to a Tiny Lives Ball that I organised.

Dinner Date > A quiet night with Tony at Motcombs in Belgravia. Fabulous food, great atmosphere and the best company.
