Luxe places >>
For a weekend > My husband’s family have a beach hut off the South Coast near Christchurch. It’s absolutely magical and the children love it too. Waking up there on a morning overlooking the deserted beach is amazing!
A long holiday > I love Italy; in fact I love everything about it – the people, the food, the shops, the architecture. We’ve visited many areas and had some memorable times there but one of my favourite places has to be Verona, it’s such a great city and watching opera by candlelight in the amphitheatre was spellbinding.
Luxe relax >>
Best food > I love Asian cuisine especially Thai food.
Best wine > I can’t resist a glass of prosecco but come the winter months you’ll find me with a good pinot noir.
Favourite restaurant > The Crab and Lobster at Asenby. I love the selection of seafood and The Crab club sandwich is something else on a lunchtime!
Perfect weekend > A crazy Saturday morning tucked up in bed watching cartoons with the kids, brunch with the girls followed by a spot of retail therapy and rounded off with dinner with my husband Tom.
Sundays would have to be a lovely walk preferably along the beach (we spend a lot of time at Saltburn) followed by a huge Sunday lunch with the whole family and finished off with our usual family film night – complete with popcorn.
Downtime means > Relaxing with a gin and tonic, flicking through a good magazine.
Best telly > I don’t get much time to watch telly but I love Gogglebox.
Best theatre > The last theatre production I saw was To Kill A Mockingbird.
Best book > The Sister’s Brothers by Patrick De Witt. I really didn’t expect to like this book; we read it at my fabulous book club but I absolutely loved it!
Best sounds > I’m currently hooked on Spotify. What an ingenious idea! I especially love the playlist selection – find the playlist to match your mood!
Luxe shop >>
Best shopping city > I have a huge soft spot for Leeds as I lived there for 12 years. It’s a great sized city with everything in easy walking distance and a wide variety of shops, bars, cafes etc.
Favourite shop > Cobblestone of course. Followed in a swift second place by Harvey Nichols.
Luxe retail treat > I love candles, I have them all over the house. I think smells are really evocative and a good candle can make/change an atmosphere.
Best buy > The Joseph black leather jacket that I bought with my first pay cheque after graduating – it’s still going strong 16 years later.
Luxe party >>
A memorable night out > Cocktails, dancing, good friends.
Perfect party > An alfresco party in the warmth of the summer, surrounded by good people and even better wine.
Best dress > This probably changes by the week depending on my most recent find. Because mum and I do the buying for the shop six months before the stock comes into store, I always have an idea of the styles which are coming in for the season ahead. We are about to start the buying for spring/summer 2016, so hopefully I’ll find a few gems to add to my wardrobe for next summer!
Dinner date > My husband Tom or my best friends as I don’t get to see them half as much as I would like.
